Introduction

The National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA) is a flagship initiative under the National Action Plan on Climate Change, designed to promote sustainable agricultural practices that are adaptable to climatic changes. The mission aims to enhance productivity, conserve natural resources, and ensure long-term food security by integrating modern and eco-friendly farming practices.

Eligibility

Eligible Beneficiaries:

• Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and self-help groups (SHGs) actively involved in sustainable farming.
• State agriculture departments and agencies engaged in promoting sustainable agriculture.

Exclusions:

• Agricultural practices that are not in line with the sustainable and climate-smart criteria outlined in the scheme guidelines.
• Large-scale commercial operations that do not incorporate sustainable practices may require additional compliance measures.

Application Process

1. Farmers and organizations can apply online via the NMSA official portal.
2. Applications are evaluated by the respective state agriculture departments with support from the central nodal agency.
3. Approved applications receive support in the form of training, subsidies, and technical guidance.
