Soil Health Card Scheme

Introduction

The Soil Health Card Scheme was launched by the Government of India in February 2015 to provide farmers with detailed information about the health of their soil. This initiative aims to promote balanced and judicious use of fertilizers and nutrients, ultimately enhancing crop productivity.

Eligibility

Eligible Beneficiaries:

• All farmers, including small, marginal, and large-scale farmers. Farmers engaged in both organic and conventional farming.

Exclusions:

• Farmers who do not own agricultural land. Areas where soil testing facilities are not available or accessible.

Application Process

1. Farmers can register at their nearest soil testing laboratories or through the state agriculture department.
2. Government authorities collect soil samples from farms for testing.
3. The samples are analyzed, and a Soil Health Card is generated.
4. Farmers can download their Soil Health Card online through the official portal.
